Lighthouse Homeschool Band
The Lighthouse Band is growing and we’d like you to join us.
No previous experience needed!
You will:
- Learn to read music
- Learn to play an instrument
- Perform in a spring concert!
Experienced students may also:
- Audition for TMEA All region Band
- Compete at Solo and Ensemble Contest
- Travel to band contests and festivals

Her's a little information about Lighthouse Band:
Last year our group of only eight players had some extraordinary accomplishments!
Two of our students earned seats in the TMEA All-Region Band. Olivia Terry earned a place as a sixth grader, and Grayson Helms earned second chair in the entire region!
Seven of our students played solos at the Region X Solo and Ensemble Contest at Lumberton High School. They competed with students from public and private schools, and all seven earned medals and top ratings in their events. Rebekah Anderson and Isabella Terry each earned gold medals!
We performed a spring concert at Show and Share on May 16th, 2023 and have performance opportunities coming up in December and in spring of 2024
I am April Anderson, a public school band director, turned homeschool mom. I have a great passion for band and what it does for students.
We offer Beginning Band with group sectional time, and a Symphonic Band for advanced students. The beginners will put on a concert next spring. The Symphonic Band will have the option to perform in various contests and put on a spring concert. In the next few years, we hope to enter some full band competitions as well! So come join us!
