There is, however, a group of homeschool bowlers meeting for $2 Thursdays at Crossroads most Thursdays during fall at 1:00 pm. This option is non-competitive, and is not sponsored by Lighthouse Home School Athletics.

BOWLING WITH LHSA IS A COMPETITIVE, LEAGUE OPPORTUNITY SPECIFICALLY FOR HOMESCHOOLERS.

When: THURSDAYS WEEKLY (fall)SEPT.13-NOV. 14 AND (spring)JAN. 9-MAR.12

Time: 1:30 PM-approx 3:15 PM EACH WEEK (Make-up dates available for missed sessions.)

Where: CROSSROADS BOWLING, BEAUMONT

Length: 10 weeks fall, 10 weeks winter/spring

Cost: $104/semester (includes 3 games per week, jersey and ball-winter/spring, USBC league membership, and reduced bowling rates for practice) This does not reflect the full cost of participation, therefore fundraising may be required for bowlers and may be a part of season participation.

Registration requires Lighthouse Home School Support membership. If you are not a Lighthouse member, please join Lighthouse to access the registration link. If you are are not logged in, the registration link will default to our home page where you may request membership in Lighthouse Home School Support.

Lighthouse is happy to begin the LHSA Homeschool Bowling League. Bowlers will play for 10 weeks each semester (Sept. 13-Nov. 14 and Jan. 9-Mar.12)Each week teams will play three games in competition with team bowlers. Each bowler will pay to the Crossroads Bowling Center a fee of $100 per semester, plus a $4 league fee. (Fees may be reduced through business sponsorships.)

Eligibility rules for LHSA apply with regards to homeschooling status, however, age requirements are set within each respective sport. A peewee and junior division are being considered and may allow for bowlers as young as 3 years old to participate. )

National Ranking and stats will be kept for each bowler within his/her age group. Scholarship savings and opportunities are accrued with participation.

Additional bowling practice is available to all league bowlers throughout the week at a rate of $2/game (includes tax.)

The first half of the bowling season ends in November,. and second half will pick up in January.

A signed waiver/release for STEP/LHSA is required.

The fee to be paid to Crossroads for each half is $100 and covers 3 games, shoes, all league fees as well as a tee shirt and ball. There is also a $4 league fee for the year.

If we obtain a team sponsor, no administrative fees will be due. If a team sponsor is not found, a fee ($15-$25 for the year )based upon number of participants will be assessed and invoiced.

We can and hope to allow bowlers to register as the season goes on and they may join within 2 weeks of season start or at the start of the second half.

Parents/family members who are not registered USBC volunteers must not enter the bowling area and must stay in the seating behind. This includes Peewee and Junior league players.

To build the program into what we envision, we will need to raise funds to reduce costs and make the homeschool bowling league available to more players.
